(ArchLinux) OpenGL artifacts after kernel update to 4.11.2
I updated my kernel to 4.11.2 last night, and now everything I do that uses OpenGL rendering has a black checkerboard over it, like this screenshot of glxgears: http://i.imgur.com/SVnhsAy.png
Has anyone else seen this? I'm hoping to find a fix without needing to downgrade my kernel.

4.11.2 was only released 4 days ago so this is in all likelihood a bug that needs ironing out. Report the bug to https://bugs.archlinux.org/ (if it's their kernel you're using), downgrade your kernel version in the meantime, and wait for the bug to be resolved.
It is their kernel (I haven't compiled my own). Thanks, I'll report it on the bug report site.
Ok. If you could come back on here and let us know what happens then that would be great (I for one would be interested to see if it is a kernel problem or Arch kernel problem).

As an aside, I'm currently on 4.12 with Fedora, and didn't notice any display issues at all as we passed though 4.11 - this laptop runs a ATI HD4000 series chip.
There's a new version of Mesa just been release (17.1 iirc) it might help once it hits the Arch repos. I'm hoping it stops Genymotion from hanging on me which it's been doing ever since the last Mesa update
