Ya know, you would think that they would nock that crap off after all the negative critizism they got.

LinuxTiro 08-31-2003 07:19 AM

i think some ppl just dont learn frm there past mistakes

flapjackboy 08-31-2003 08:17 AM

Well, they'll certainly learn when they bring Palladium out, lol. Palladium could be the best thing to happen to the Linux community in years.

flapjackboy
could u just explain this thing in a bit detail.

flapjackboy 08-31-2003 08:42 AM

Palladium is going to be M$'s new DRM (Digital Rights Management) mechanism that will be built into Longhorn. From all that I've heard about it, it's going to combine low-level code built into the kernel with code hardwired into motherboards/hard drives/CD/DVD drives which will supposedly verify digital media as being from the original author. Of course, if M$ can't convince the hardware manufacturers to implement it, it's all going to fall through anyway, but they can probably rely on their bosom-buddies intel to implement it on their products.

LinuxTiro 08-31-2003 09:21 AM

so i think we should wait until the release of longhorn and see wat happens

flapjackboy 08-31-2003 09:50 AM

Yep, I predict a very lean period for M$ after Longhorn is released...
