I mean are there any 56k isp for linux?
Any ISP that doesn't use their own (Windows) software should be ok. As long as all you need to do is dial a number and log in, any OS can use it.
okay so i could use my isp from widows (http://www.peoplepc.com) even though it says the software is only for windows.
I use Earthlink, it works with linux.

errrr damn it lol why cant they just make it for linux.I have a ? okay what if i got the #s that they dial to connect me and on mandrake it has that inter net connection program if i could get all the right #s and stuff do you think i could connect that way?
As long as the software isn't part of the connection process - as, say, AOL is - then it shouldn't be a problem. However, if they have made the software part of the connection (and not just an easy way to setup the connection), lets say, when you connect, the software forms part of the handshake - then you may need to switch ISP.
Try the manual connection - if it's anything like AOL, there are probably some DNS settings to change - and let us know how you get on. |
Okay so like u mean like when you connect to the isp a whole program starts? when i start mine a windows stays up and if you close it you get dissconnected. So do u think i could?plz help lol
