IBM in SuperBowl Ad
 
I was reading a LinuxWorld article this morning about the Super Bowl ad by IBM. They provide a link to the IBM page with the TV ads in streaming video format. Crossing my fingers I hoped for the best. Yes, well almost. The video does play (thank you for that) but there is a little problem.

console ="_master" in the video control area of the code to something else and match the video display with it to allow matching control and viewing on the system they say is shaking things up.

I HAVE JUST SEEN IBM'S LINUX EVERYWHERE ADVERT ON PRIME TIME ITV!!!!!!!!! During an episode of Morse no less (Brits will appreciate).

If you haven't noticed, I merged your thread with the existing IBM/Linux Commercial threads, in which I merged all of them together. We literally had 10 different threads discussing these commercials in which there is really no reason we need that many on same topic. Now they are all in one place for all to read, update, reply to, and so on..

hi Trickykid, appreciated, I haven't been around for a while.

still - I've NEVER, EVER seen anything like this on British Terrestrial prime time before.

Did most people watching have a clue what linux might be? I wonder.

Inspector Morse (even though they are all repeats) is one of THE most popular programmes on British Commercial TV. Millions of people - quite literally - will have seen this ad.

But yes, I really will calm down now and go away.

I saw it on channel 5... after the program "Tv adverts they had to ban"

made me smile, especially after upgrading to windowsXP(for my dad) on a pc with 2 windows modems, which can only connect to the net under linux cos of crappy driver support.

there is a whole line of the ibm linux commercials... The most popular one seems to be the one where the prodigy is sitting there learning from the musician, the anthropologer, etc... This is the one that everyone is linking to. Im looking for the one where the prodigy is watching an old tv clip of muhammad ali saying "i shook up the world" in either avi or mpeg format. Anyone got a download link for that one? Sadly the one on the ibm website is broadcast in java :( Thanks!

the muhammad ali isnt that good...

the linux kid just watches an old black and white tv of him in chanting "i shook up the world" then the tv is switched off, and the present day muhammad ali says "shake up the world" then the linux kid grins slightly.
