Fedora locks up on log out
this is very frustrating...
I run a lab in the high school that I teach in. We've been running RedHat 9.0 and I'm converting to Fedora 3. All is well, EXCEPT when I log out, the computer hangs and the monitor reports a "refresh rate out of range" error. I've checked the X configuration against that of the RH 9.0 computers and they seem identical, and the system probed the card and display correctly. School starts in a week --- eeeeeeeeeeeeeek! steve |
Fedora 3???
OK, OK, I'm not making an announcement of a new release. I meant Fedora 2...

hey have you tryed halt from the terminal unless you need to swich users
|
halt from terminal works...
...yes, that works, and ctrl-alt delete (a restart of X -- right?) seems to work most of the time, but I'd like to tell the kids to log out in the usual way. It doesn't do much to sell linux to the kids if they have to go to a terminal and log out because the gnome logout item locks the computer :-)

Switch to Mandrake 10 or 10.1 beta 2 its a lot better
