Need help on how to install Nvidia Legacy Graphic Drivers

Just install Debain 9 onto an old thinkpad that comes with a Nvidia Card.

From https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphi...#nvidia-detect, I installed nvidia-detect which recommendeds to install the nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver package.

If I were to follow https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphi...legacy_GPUs.29 and do the following
Code:
aptitude -r install linux-headers-$(uname -r|sed 's,[^-]*-[^-]*-,,') nvidia-legacy-304xx-driver
Will I get the nvidia legacy drivers configured or are there steps that need to be done later?

As I do not have a second computer to play with, trying to get it right rather then to reinstall if this installation breaks.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you are not sure don't use sid from online.

Simple way is to download the nvidia*304*.deb and install it from local as a simple package install.

HOpe that helps.

An update. Finally did the installation. After running
Code:
aptitude -r install linux-headers-$(uname -r|sed 's,[^-]*-[^-]*-,,') nvidia-legacy-304xx-driver
Debian's aptitude will do it's magic and things just work.
