Question Dolphin won't show any previews.

I'm using Debian Sid, i installed plasma manually instead of via tasksel, but i did attempt to install the kdegraphics-thumbnailers and ffmpegthumbs packages, which didn't solve the problem even after logging out and back in.

In Dophin, take a look in Menu-->Configure..>Configure Dolphin-->General-->Previews let us know what you see.

When I go there, I see a list of file types with check-boxes to turn previews on and off.

Then I think your original theory is quite correct--that you are missing some dependencies needed for this function.

Sadly, I am not knowledgeable enough to guess what they might be.
