ToolTalk + CDE = problem
Hi All !
I have got a problem with tooltalk and Common Desktop Environment.I can't start CDE.AIX automatically run Failsafe Session. Also there is a message "ToolTalk Message Server Could Not Be Started" with explanation that ttsession could not be started within the time specified by the DT_TTSESSION_TIMEOUT.Also i can read that the problem may be caused by a misconfiguration of the network (but I'm almost ;) sure that everything is ok). This problem appear just after I tried to give my pSeries IP using DHCP. Maybe someone can help me , I would be thankful for any kind of help :) |
This means that the Desktop cannot be startd through IP.
Everything will be fine again if you simply reboot your system. You could also try, from the a failsafe version, to restart the CDE environment : stopsrc -s dtsrc; startsrc -s dtsrc. |
Unfortunately It doesn't work.. :(
I tried to reboot system for thousand times.. and still I've got the same message and the same problem I tried to use this commands but it also doesn't work... When i type "startsrc -s dtsrc" AIX replays that the Subsystem has been started but when i use command "stopsrc -s dtsrc" AIX writes that the subsystem or group dtsrc is currently inoperative.. (also after reboot) ... any idea ? |
Sorry, no idea yet.
By the way, I always use fixed IP addresses, did you try that ? |
maybe verify your script /etc/rc.tcpip and search for the line which contains dhcpd.
Is it running ? a + |
