why is 4MLinux an >>unkown Linux distribution (on hdxy)<<?

hi!,
(excuse my bad englisch - but I have a [big*] problem!)
nearly everyday I am working with 4MLinux. (It is true!)
Step by Step - 4MLinux would be an better-known Linux-distribution for me. But 4MLinux is not the only one I worked with. I also use Mint, Debian,Ubuntu, Manjaro,Damned Small-Linux ... etc. Normally they worked respectfully together. They know each other and respect there own workspaces ( hd-partitions)...

4MLinux is also a well-known Distribution for Distrowatch.com. Distrowatch know much more Distribution then I did. 4MLinux is under the Top 50 on Rank 43 on distrowatch. In my little world, 4MLinux is under the Top 10 on Rank 3,4,5 or ...?

For zk123 - I think - 4Mlinux is also a well-known Linux-distribution. I did nothing know about the length of zk123 Top-List or the Rank of 4MLinux in his world.

But what is with Grub or Grub2?
Grub is knowing nearly all - or many of - the Linux-distribution listed by Distrowatch. Grub/Grub2 is the only one - I know - that did not knowing 4MLinux today. In every Grub-Menu I used on my Computer's there is an entry >>unknown Linux distribution on hda1<<. Why that? Why did Grub not knowing the realname of 4MLinux. Is Grub an ignorant System? Have Grub and 4MLinux any trouble or private problems with each other?

Or is something wrong with 4MLinux? Has 4MLinux (and Lilo) a problem with the rest of the world?
The os-prober of Grub -the new and last ultimate Knigge [1] for Linux - is not recongnizing 4MLinux.

Is there any help possible?

thanks!

Unfortunately I am not an expert in Grub.

Perhaps 4MLinux should be renamed "Unknown" ?
This would solve the problem described by you

Ps.: The Question is: what must be changed/done that 4MLinux is automatic recognized as a normal-named Linux-Distro? Oh normal-named Linux - an other 2n-Linux-Distro!? Or shut 4MLinux upgrade to Grub-Boot-Manager?

Good news

This problem has been fixed by upstream (THANKS!):
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/d-i/os-prober.git

Unfortunately, we will have to wait (several months) till these changes are included in various Linux distros.
