Well I have been using Eclipse for the past two years when it came to C++, JAVA, HTML, PHP, JavaScript and C and Python Development. I also used it back them for a while, to code in C#, but I do not do that anymore.

Earlier this year, I bought a license for Sublime Text 3, to do my HTML, PHP, CSS, JS development there... yet I still find myself ending up a lot of times doing it in Eclipse still.

Hence I do vote for Eclipse.

Well,

While I have used Eclipse for a LONG time, I find I am using it less and less lately.

At work, we completely refactored our legacy Java/JSP webapp to Python/Django, so I have gone from using Eclipse with PyDev to either using PyCharm or the Anaconda Suite with Spyder. And, I have to say, I prefer Spyder for it's IPython terminals (READ: REPL). Plus it already has Jupyter Notebook support built in.

You can try it out yourself at https://www.continuum.io/downloads.

Can we add "the Anaconda Suite" to the list?

Thx.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I will definitely have a look at it.

We all know what's going to win. Starts with an E and it's not eclipse.

I haven't done any coding in a long while, but when I did, I always used geany.

I’ve registered for an account, but I still can’t vote. Anything else I need to do?

The message is:

"toniepple, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.“

I already activated the account and received a confirmation that my account is now active.

Thanks

Toni

Voted Atom,

been a long time Eclipse user and I still consider it a decent IDE, but for projects that don't rely on Eclipse plugins I'm moving to Atom. Easier to configure, and seems to be under very active development, while Eclipse seems to be on the decline.

I've found that I like Bluefish best.

I used Eclipse when I was student and for my first years of work but Intellij Idea is far above.

Today I swear only on Idea, It's really comfortable to work with it.

I'm a Java developer.

Really? I still don't know why it's in the IDE poll. I must have missed something. I'm a vi user so that probably explains my ignorance.

I use NetBeans for everything maven based, Idea for Scala ...
