iceweasel/firefox most of the time, but also dillo and elinks.

Wow. No Java in Chrome; no (working) Flash in Firefox. What's a web surfer to do?

I'm still hooked on Opera, which is what I voted for.
Of course I mean Opera Classic (the 12.x branch), not the Chrome clone they recently adopted as the new Opera.

Still regret that decision of Opera ASA.

Opera rocks

Opera-12.16 and Opera-28 side-by-side

The first for its fantastic single-key shortcuts
The second because it is Chromium but now usable (and works on sites that are dead on Opera-12)

Firefox for browsing here at LQ and elsewhere.

Firefox though I loved opera but I think they're straying away from their path.

kooru 12-17-2014 06:25 AM

Opera :)

My current favorite Open Source browser is wkccc/Netrider. wkccc is based on a version of webkit and will work with a variety of front end GUI libraries including FLTK, SDL and the command line. Netrider is a web browser using wkccc and FLTK as a front end. For a browser with modern functionality (JavaScript, CSS support, etc.), Netrider is lightweight compared to other alternatives in the category. wkccc and Netrider are very portable. There's even a build for Nanolinux that works with Nano-x in place of X Windows. You'll find the browser and the source code at Sourceforge as part of the NetRider project.

I often see distributions aimed at older, lower resource machines or distributions that are attempting to use more lightweight applications searching for lightweight browsers that can offer more modern functionality. For those interested in lightweight applications but still needing a full-featured browser, I'd definitely nominate Netrider (with wkccc) as browser of the year.

I have tried others but always return to Firefox.

UZBL gets my vote this year. I like that it has become more full featured.

zdanb 12-17-2014 11:33 AM

Firefox with opera as my chrome browser

stanz 12-17-2014 01:40 PM

I don't like Ffox's direction...
Now using Iceweasel in Debian 7 I'll
stick with that for now.
Choice not added here?

jeremy 12-17-2014 01:45 PM

Iceweasel has been added.
