And where is Unity? (I also checked Window managers and couldn't find it)

If no Unity, I vote GNOME. GNOME is consistently provides a stable, reliable & easily usable DE. There isn't any DE like it. However LXDE is getter better all the time and I could see my self maybe voting for it next year.

LXDE deserves the nod because they've made such advances, but also feel like I should vote Gnome since I use it the most, so I guess I'm going to have to ponder this one a bit more.

Oh yeah, if you don't like Metacity you may want to consider replacing it with OpenBox. OpenBox is very lightweight wm and a nice drop in replacement on Gnome.

Decided that Gnome deserved the nod this year.

I vote for KDE. It becomes better every year.

Hi,

Used KDE a lot in the past, just this year switched to Gnome and kind of like it, so has my vote.

Kind regards,

Eric

I'm surprised that GNOME won here, but Amarok won in the Audio Media Player category (since it basically is a KDE application). Also, you have some typos in your post :).

Gnome

Best of breed!

Gnome get my support.
I do not like KDE menu that I have to open page by page and I have to scroll back and forth.
I prefer the conventional way of opening it side by side.

I am not surprised ;)

I personally don't like KDE, XFCE is good though.

As for me, I'm perfectly fine with Google Chrome DE.

As for me, I avoid Google like the plague.

Not to mention their net neutrality "compromise" with Verizon.

+1

Recently been taking a second look at Palm and WebOS. Was early Android adopter but in light of Google now doing evil it needs to go away the next time I update my cell device.
