Conflict when trying to install a pkg

I'm trying to install zabbix server on my FreeBSD box but I get this error partly through the process:

Installing py27-setuptools27-5.5.1_1...
pkg-static: py27-setuptools27-5.5.1_1 conflicts with py27-setuptools-1.1.7_1 (installs files into the same place). Problematic file: /usr/local/lib/python2.7/site-packages/easy-install.pth.dist
*** Error code 70

I ran portsnap fetch extract to get the latest and greatest of everything but now there's this.

Thanks for any help.

py27-setuptools-1.1.7 seems really old to me. You should deinstall that one, and reinstall /usr/ports/devel/py-setuptools.

Yes, version upgrades of Perl and Python can be tricky because so many ports depend on them. Problem is, normally all ports depending on perl/python have to be rebuild/reinstalled when a new version is introduced. In these cases it's important to follow the right steps (usually explained in /usr/ports/UPDATING).

Regards,
Marco
