Question How install Wine 9.8


Hello

I downloaded the Wine-9.8.tar.xz archive from here https://dl.winehq.org/wine/source/9.x/

Can you tell me how I can use it to install Wine ?

i have Zorin OS 17.1

Thank you for your answer Pan64, you saw right.

I read that to use Winetricks, you have to launch Winetricks by doing a search in the Unity dashboard. A first window opens to ask you what you want to do. To install a library check the Select the Default WinePrefix box, then install a windows dll or component. In the new window that opens, check the Windows libraries to install, and click Valider to install them. <<

But how is it possible to know which of DLLs that the Windows program needs?

Would it be easier to use a virtualized windows rather than using Wine software to use Windows program?

it depends on you. Sometimes programs will report what is missing. Sometimes a full windows in a VM is a better idea. Sometimes you can find information about those dependent files/packages.
