Description: "Today sees the fifth release of TEENpup and once again it's based on Puppy 2.14. This time the ISO image has grown to just under 700 MB so that it will fit on a CD. As the focus for TEENpup has shifted to a modern operating system for older PCs which most likely only came with a CD drive, it was felt that a 700MB size limit should be adhered to. To attract users from Windows, TEENpup's default color scheme has been modeled on some of Vista's coloring. Also, there's something I created called 'Magic Scripts', which is a drag & drop arrangement - all you do is drag & drop, say, an audio or video file and it will allow you to convert it to another format."

Pros: many
Cons: few

...personally... I had tried the just previous TeenPup
release because it included XaraLX. Teenpup 2009 also has
XaraLX, which is a vector drawing program no longer being
actively developed (the freebie linux branch, that is).
Perhaps TeenPup will help popularize this deserving app.

...Teenpup 2009, generally... How he put this together is
a true wonderment(!)... there is almost nothing I use in the
way of major applications which is NOT on the TeenPup 2009 CD...
but lets look again at that which we discuss... its all on
just [one] CD !

My single reservation with the TeenPup 2009 collection regards
menu naming conventions... he has apparently opted to use
'pet descriptions', rather than formal app names, and this
took me a while to get accustomed to.

As I began, it is just incredible to me that most of what I
have ever loaded from my 22 disk Debian set is available on
this single CD ! This is the future of linux distributions, I
have got to believe.

TeenPup seems to be very fast on my computer... it does, at
the same time, seem to lag on certain operations or programs...
on a system with lots of memory and a faster chip, I dont think
one would ever notice they were running a live-cd, and not
from the hard drive; although TeenPup, at all, is specifically
developed for use with older equipment.

If TeenPup 2009 becomes popular for no other reason, it will
certainly be that it is an ultimate kind of Linux 'try me' CD...
it is, with this, a fantastic and portable productivity CD... it
is, again, a testament to the huge variety of programs Linux
has available - and this has been a primary focus of John's work,
he having worked diligently to include so many popular variations
of Linux programs for us to try. I, with very many Linux users,
will, I believe, more typically load [one of each], tending to
forget most of what else is available, application wise.
HOORAY FOR TeenPup 2009 !! Great work, John.
