Pros: Easy install, is loaded with progs, has a great file installing program
Cons: Does not list drives in fstab quite right.

I hate to give anything a 10 but really this is it. I have been tooling around with different distros. Mandrake was too slow, red hat had issues with mp3, peanut did not install all of the programs right, Suse could not get mplayer installed, other programs did not install gui interface or could not read my nvidia card right.

So finally for some reason I passed over college Linux and after Ark linux screwed me royally, I decided to give it a try. WOW!!! The distrobution loaded everything right the first time (even my buggy on board ac97 sound card). I was on the net and the system comes loaded with programs and features. Gaim is standard and so is MPlayer and others.

It gave me no problem installing Azureus and is quite intuitive. There is a bit that I think maybe missing in the configuration end. But over all a good program and would be a good starter for people coming of the windows thing.

Deffinitely give it a spin.

Pros: based on slackware, a little easier to install than slackware
Cons: why not just run slackware instead?

I love Slackware, and CollegeLinux is based on Slackware. I still think Slackware is better because it allows the user to configure more options in the install than in CollegeLinux. I would only recommend CollegeLinux over Slackware to those who want a more user-friendly distro than Slackware.

Pros: Fast, easy to use, User friendly gui!
Cons: semi dificult install, Some cdrom drives Have hard to fix issues, and wont run.

I used to be a hard core CollegeLinux fan, After attempting at atlest 12 distro's and not having anything realy bad to say about any of them, I decided to try CollegeLinux.. Finaly I had a linux distribution that i stuck with! Divx worked fresh off the install!
Unfortunently I did have a slight problem, witch is why i gave it a 9... My cdrom drive would never work on CollegeLinux no matter what i did.. Fortunently I have a buncha computers, so i just swaped one for a more generic brand and Bam it works..
I would still be useing CollegeLinux to this day But I dont have my old computer any more and when i was serching for a new distribution I was dissapointed that collegelinux still had no updates...
