Pros: Makes Fedora more user-friendly
Cons: Fedora is often unstable, and Gnome 3 is unfinished

Now that Kororaa has produced two Fedora-based versions, we can probably assume it’s here to stay. I tried the Gnome version, with the ‘fallback’ desktop (I don’t have the hardware for the full version of Gnome 3). As I said of version 14, it gives you what you’d get with Fedora after a lot of extra googling and downloading. The software all worked well, as did the pre-installed codecs. Of course, this being Fedora, there’s no guarantee that all will continue to work if you upgrade. Unlike Fedora, there is no choice of programs available when installing, but a generous selection is given: Gimp, Inkscape, Firefox, Evolution, Ekiga, Empathy, Gwibber, LibreOffice, Audacity, Rhythmbox, Cheese, Openshot, Totem, VLC, etc. There were a few problems. Fedora’s switch to systemd means the old GUI tool to manage services no longer works and there doesn’t seem to be a replacement yet. I was also surprised to see it using swap, although the amount used was less than the free memory. Incidentally, this is a big distro: don’t use it with less than 1GB of RAM and a modern CPU. Kororaa is a good alternative to Fedora for beginners, but the KDE version is the better choice; Gnome 3 still lacks a lot of configuration tools.
