Pls hlp ths NOOB hoping to install Zorin6Core on two RAID-1 HDD using GUI, NOT mdadm!
Just to focus the attention on the subject matter, I'll repeat the title:
Please help this NOOB hoping to install Zorin 6 Core on two RAID-1 HDD, using GUI, NOT mdadm! Firstly, I find Linux jargon CONFUSING! Zorin is built on Ubuntu, they say, though that means nothing to a noob like me! When I have googled something like "setting up RAID 1 on Zorin 6 Core using GUI" (or ditto save for "using Gparted"), mostly, I get hits referring to setting up RAID (any level) with Ubuntu. Which causes me to think that MAYBE I could install Ubuntu Desktop, which would allow me to set up my RAID array, then install Zorin over (within? beside??) that. You see, I'm CLUELESS! I do know what I want, however, it's just that I don't know how to go about getting it: installing Zorin 6 Core LTS (I have the Live CD iso, burned) on two 80 Gb HDD, set up in a RAID-1 array. AND, since I'm too green to used mdadm, I would like to do the RAID-1 setup with the help of a GUI installer. Anyone have any specific advice (if so, please explain it as you would to a child : -{ !)? Thx, Findux |
