My ZorinOS crashes moments after logging in.

I had an issue about not being able to get my ZorinOS to fully launch. I updated the driver for ubuntu (Nvidia 304) Found some info on using the recovery mode. I booted into the recovery mode for Zorin, found Network, typed, 'sudo apt-get install Nvidia-current'
I then rebooted using "Ctrl+Atl+Del"

If I am correct, I presently have a "Nvidia 304" driver on my PC, updated for Zorin and Ubuntu.

I can log into Zorin OS 10, Core, but it is slow and within moments it freezes/crashes. I have no choice but to power off from the Tower. Upon restarting my PC, I use one of the other distros, which are:

Manjaro Linux at /dev/sda4, Mageia5, at /dev/sda5, Ubuntu Mate 15.10, at /dev/sda6, PCLinuxOS, at /dev/sda7. With Zorin OS 10, at /dev/sda3. I have swap at /dev/sda1, with /dev/sa2, Extended under its 'umbrella' are Mageia, Ubuntu and PCLOS.

"I am on a Dell Dimension 9100
Intel Pentium
4CPU 3.00Ghz x1
2.00GB Memory
A NVIDIA G72 Graphics card."

"01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G72 [GeForce 7300 LE] (rev a1)
Subsystem: Dell Device 0405
Kernel driver in use: nouveau
Kernel modules: nouveau
05:08.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation NM10/ICH7 Family LAN Controller (rev 01)
Subsystem: Dell Device 01a7"

If there is any other information I can provide which will help resolve this let me know and I will do what I can to post it here. Perhaps, I will try Zorin OS 9 Core, and see if that makes any difference?

You have a 10 year old slowish machine and you're trying to run a "heavy" distro so I'm not surprised its slow and jerky. If you really want to run a heavy distro full of eye candy - you're going to need faster hardware and more RAM.

Just be realistic with your expectations...

This is something I did not take much notice before but I'm a thinking there may just be something here?

Aftre I've selected Zorin and in the few seconds between then and when the login window is visible. I see this:

"[Zorin 1.056526]
ACPI PCC Probe failed"

This is the only distro that has a that point, something failed. Is it possible that this 'ACPI PCC Probe failed" is a factor in my Zorin crashing? I am grasping at straws.

I am having absolutely no luck with ZorinOS. I remived Zorin OS 10; replacing it with Zorin OS 9, end result is I am rmeoving Zorin totally. I give up.

When I posted on this subject, I had given up on Zorin. I am if anything and that is stubborn. On the 21st, I did another install but this time, I selected to run updates along with the normal installation. I had not done that before.

I, can now log into ZorinOS with no problems. I do have a couple issues I still need to resolve, but for this thread I can mark it solved.
