[SOLVED]How can I disable Caps Lock in Zorin 9.1?
Zorin 9.1 seems like a very polished distro, but like many with carefully arranged appearances it is tightly controlled and not easy to tweak or modify. I've tried several methods to disable or reassign the Caps Lock key (which drives me nuts when I hit it by accident!) and haven't hit one yet that works; even dconf-editor shows no Xkb options.
Any and all suggestions welcomed, and thanks in advance! |
[SOLVED] How can I disable Caps Lock in Zorin 9.1?
Oops - I just discovered the Tweak Tool from Software Center, which solves a lot of configuration issues.
Interesting point: I tried the customary apt-get to install it, but it threw an error. Clearly, this is a distro in which GUI techniques are preferred to terminal. Surprising! |
If you're using GNOME I recommend the "Lock Keys" extension -- this shows a pop-up every time you use the key with an icon notification for the status of caps- & num-lock in the topbar.
