Trying out Zenwalk... New UEFI install and stuck at GRUB screen.

I've installed Zenwalk 15 (latest Nov release) onto my UEFI laptop (eMMC disk)...

Ive got an EFI partition and I told it not to install LILO but install ELILO...

Now I'm trying to boot and I get a black/white text GRUB screen with just a "grub>" prompt. I looked at the TAB options but none seem to boot the machine.

What have I done wrong?

UPDATE 1: Linux Mint was on the machine... It looks like the EFI information is still on there and ELILO install didn't do it's job.

UPDATE 2: Wiped the disk... Re-partitioned (512M EFI & the rest EXT4)... Re-installed... Went to set up ELILO and something about "Could not prepare Boot variable: success" pops up the vanishes...

UPDATE 3: Looks like it's a Slackware package that needs a patch- "It looks like efivar is faulty in slackware64-current"

Could not prepare Boot variable:
would suggest that you booted in legacy mode and not efi mode. Open a terminal,
Code:
cat /sys/firmware/efi
will output “this is a directory” if booted in efi mod

I tried legacy mode- When setup tries to write to LILO the MBR it fails.

(This is a HP Stream BTW)

So, I turned off ALL of the BIOS security stuff I could find and ELILO and LILO both still fail to install.

The odd thing about this is Mint installed fine (even with all of the security stuff turned on).

I'll just have to wait until Slackware catches up. I know Pat and all don't have the resources to develop for every laptop so, I'll wait a while and try again later (like I did when the big push to 64bit happened).
