TPLink AC600 driver installation
Dear ZenWalkers:
I'm trying to install on my up-to-date ZW system a tp-link AC600 Mini Wireless USB adaptor, so far with no success as the manufacturer has developed -- surprise surprise -- no driver (u. https://tinyurl.com/y23uckoa) with Linux support. I've tried a few solutions proposed around the Internet -- notably here (u. https://tinyurl.com/yxt4e53e), here (u. https://tinyurl.com/y3tyrvwa) and here (u. https://tinyurl.com/y5ze2yxt) -- but none would work, either because of errors during compilation or my limited understanding of kernel module activation. Has any of you experienced the same issue, and hopefully found a solution? I append below the list of my system's USB buses: Code:

Hi.
I would believe ndiswrapper is installable from your package manager? Then you can use it to install the windows driver, I think it has a GUI version too... Have fun! :hattip: Edit\add; this is also current and gay be helpful: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...uh-4175661319/ |
Hi jamison20000e:
Thank you for your response and help. I've followed instructions in the thread you've referred me too, unfortunately to no avail: I get "bad return status" errors upon build; as a consequence the adaptor (idVendor: 2357, idProduct: 011f)) would just refuse to give signs of life. And yes: I've got a 4.19.75 Linux kernel. |
Ndiswrapper could do as well, You'd basically use the windows driver or at least a bit of it. It's been a long time since I've used it but I think it would be the bin file?
I'm sure there's plenty of documentation on how to use it. ;) |
I might be able to, jamison20000e, but unfortunately I don't have much time at present to dedicate to this matter; I'll try working around NdisWrapper over the next week or so.
Thank you nonetheless for your advice! |
