Hello,

I have this strange X problem in Zenwalk-4.4.1 which has been configured for graphical login using GDM:

At LILO prompt, suppose I select Zenwalk and boot, instead of getting GDM login screen, I get a small white square on the screen with a black background.

But, suppose at LILO prompt I press TAB and in the resulting LILO prompt, I type

Zenwalk 4

and then reboot, X starts properly and I get GDM login screen. I have no problem in starting X by issuing startx command in run level 3. So, my X configuration is ok.


I have Intel 845 GVSR motherboard and I did not have this problem in Zenwalk-4.2. Any clues?

Maybe re-install after a hardrive wipe, use reiserfs, and stick with a text login, graphic login, who needs it?

I'm running 4.4.1 with no problems.
