Install without CD-ROM or bootable USB

Hello,

I've got a really slick little lightweight laptop which I'd love to have Linux running nicely on. The more I read about Zenwalk, the more I think it's a great choice: suspend built in, lightweight distro, good packaging system... nice. The only problem is that I can't figure out how to install it on my system.

My laptop has no CD-ROM at all, and it's a finicky older Toshiba that will only boot off of its own USB floppy drive or its hard drive. There's no option in the BIOS to boot off of USB, and USB CD-ROMS aren't bootable on this system (though I'm a bit perplexed as to why a USB floppy drive would be...? oh well.).

I've been able to do network installs of Fedora, Mandrake, and Debian before (none of which perfectly suited my needs with this computer... Debian didn't like to play with Wireless except in unstable, and I got fed up with how often the packages would break my setup; Mandrake never liked Wireless, Fedora 5 has too much overhead [suppose I could try Fedora 4]). I tried to set Zenwalk up to do my normal network installation, copying the install kernel and ramdisk images and loading them with grub, but it gave me a kernel panic and exited. Does anybody have any experience installing Zenwalk without a CD? I've read about mounting the .iso, but aside from reading "it's hard" I can't find instructions. Any help or links or what-not would be appreciated.
