how do we install zenwalk with no cd drive
hello
as the name suggests, I am new to linux but experienced in windows. I have read a lot of articles and I would like to try zenwalk. I want to try a full install on the Hard disk of an old pc, so that I can get a feel. question :- can I install zenwalk on a pc where I have only a hard disk and a floppy. i.e If I download the iso to the hard disk , how do I go about to install it to the same hard disk - in a different partition. what command to use ? your help will be greatly appreciated. |
Hi and welcome to LQ :D It appears that there is no straightforward way to do this. You could put the laptop HD into a caddy and install it by using the HD as a USB storage device (http://support.zenwalk.org/index.php/topic,1153.0.html), or you could try following these instructions: http://support.zenwalk.org/index.php/topic,1495.0.html
Good luck with the install. |
You might try a install over ftp which I think can be done. use floppies to get it booted up then when it is time to select the source you can select pre-mounted directory. Never tried this though.
