Epic TVOut struggle with Radeon 7500 Video Card.

Hello

I am nearly at the brink of pulling my hair out with this.

I recently purchased a used, older laptop from an IT friend of mine for Linux play. Zenwalk, by far, has got to be the best laptop distro out there. Unfortunately I am having a problem with getting TVOut to work. I have a Radeon 7500 video card (the machine itself is a DELL Inspiron 4140), I am using an SVideo cable for the connection to my television, and I am running The latest snapshot of 5.2. It is hard to explain the problem, it basically just flat out doesn't work. I have read everything under the sun about atitvout and xrandr, but haven't found any slackware help or even a slackware package for ati, and Im not exactly sure what I am doing with xrander. In the course of this quagmire I have download all sorts of supposed fixes for this problem, so if a fresh install is suggested before I follow any advice I dont mind. Please help and let me know what other information i can give you if you need any. Thanks in advance ZenWalkers!

Never had an ati so don't really know but these links might be useful:

I don't think you need any other drivers than the ones included with xorg, but I could be wrong.

You can convert rpm packages to tgz packages with rpm2tgz, no idea if they will actually work but you can try.
