Let's talk again about Yoper

In Linux distro timeline there is a old distribution: Yoper.

These days I try it: Screenshot

What do you think about Yoper?

Probably not a lot differents, I'm not a really Yoper fan, I just want to talk about this distro.
Code:
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.21_yos-46 #1 PREEMPT Mon May 14 16:35:59 NZST 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
- all virtual hardware was correctly detect and works fine;
- X server allows to set a 1200x800@60Hz resolution, in VMware Server (another distro don't allow this resolution);
- Softare updater seems to work correctly.

Okay, that's fine. I thought maybe there was some reason I should try it out.

I'd never heard of the 'old' Yoper but thought I'd give the 'new' one a try. It is beautiful, the artwork on this, in particular the icons, is simply great. The distro also seems very fast.

I find it's not quite ready for prime time yet. About 40-50% of the time it boots to a command line and I can't get beryl to work properly - the windows decorations won't display when beryl is on - I have beryl working fine on about 5 other distros. And the repositories aren't that big yet, no openoffice.

But it has a lot of potential in this 'new' effort. I'll definitely be watching for it to grow.
