ISO Hard Drive Install

I have been trying to install yoper on my laptop for a couple of hours. I cannot seem to get a installation cd to work. I am not sure why. I remember that there is a way to use the iso on the hard drive to install it from. what commands do i need to accomplish this. since the yoper forums are down, i cannot get to the harddrive install.
thanks

I had this same problem today. The install cd would not boot like it should and windows explorer would not even read the cd. I had to load the iso into an image drive (through Nero ImageDrive). After the image was loaded I made a copy from the image drive to a blank cd in the drive. This is assuming you have WinXP and an image drive though so i am not sure how much help it is.

The cd that i use will work on other systems, however when i try it on either of my laptops that i have it will not work, it has something to do with the video chipset. the only that i can get it to install somewhat it to use the iso on the hard drive to install.

Unhappy

As I've been trying to do the same for a couple of days now, here's something you may find useful (red-hat specific )

Hmm..

Isn't that similar to pxe booting, except without the network?

I believe you have to have a base system (I.E, DOS or Knoppix), and place the ISO on the hard drive. Then, within that system you must mount the image to a certain point (/dev/ram I think..)

I don't think you can mount CD's via GRUB, Lilo, or the Windows Boot Manager. If your the odd one who uses Solaris on your system..lol...then I believe you can do it via the Solaris Boot Manager. Other then that, I wouldn't know.

Good luck :-)
