Wow,
I never thought linux could be so easy! I started using linux with Suse 8.2, and gradually progressed to 9.2 (always professional editions).
What always annoyed me about Suse was the trouble I had with Nvidia drivers, at that stage I couldn't connect to the internet so couldn't use the online update, and the video players, crippled so that I could basically play nothing! What was the point of having them?
Just recently I came across Yoper; "Linux, refined" I am so so so impressed. It set up my video card flawlessly, zero hassles! Came with drivers, uses Sax2 (from Suse!) and, kaffeine works on all my videos and dvds! KDE looks and feels much better than Suse (I don't know what suse does to those menus but it's not user friendly at all)
Only thing now is finding where to get latex, guess I have to move my computer into my dad's office to connect up to Synaptic. If it works as well as I'm anticipating, I may have found my new distribution.
Thanks for an amazing distribution
Dave.
