TBH, i dont know when it will be released. we had been making a lot of progress two weeks ago and then it all quiets down. i havent heard from andreas in a while.

but im using 2.2 devel right now and its really good. the only thing missing are just bugfixes and ntfs write support. when its done, it would be worth the wait.

also, we need to hold it back until the new servers are set up. if we get /.'d the current severs would die, so we want to be able to handle all the peoplewanting to download it.

For the initial release of the new version, you guys can probably distribute it over BitTorrent only. I guess that would spare the new servers from unnecessary load.

The new servers are being installed and the forum should be back by the end of this week.
Been looking forward to the reopening of the Yoper forums but it's already Sunday so I guess the yoper team ain't gonna stick to the date they set.

I am beginning to worry that Yoper is dead.

after today, yoper's website will be 2 weeks behind schedule.. ain't a big issue but it's becoming detrimental to their reputation.. couldn't they even put up a new notice informing people of the delay?

Let's be optimistic and hope they will return. If not - i don't know, it remains Linux after all, so you always have an option to manually upgrade your system, but i think about what will be my next distro. LFS?

As Weeguy stated...

It wouldn't hurt for Yoper to post a "downtime" schedule.

I've contributed, and keep Yoper as my mainstay OS. But if she ain't going nowhere then I'll pick another.

The question is how long we have to wait... Tell me it will be back in two months, three months, ok, i'll wait. But there is no sign from Yoper team, they don't say nothing. How sad, i really love this distro and don't want to switch...

I hope he comes back soon with the 2.2 release. In the mean time I am trying out some other distros just in case. I am installing Ubuntu right now.

Its quite worrying that the Yoper forum is still down :-( I have encouraged a couple of people to install it - then the forum is down for ages. One is already going to remove Yoper and go back to Mandrake.
Assuming the distro will keep running - but I must admit to getting a bit anxious now as to what is happening.

I considered installing YOPER last week, but after reading this thread and a few others of similar tone, I think I'll hold off and hope they're coming back soon!
