reconfigure on vector?

I have just switched from Kubuntu 6.10 to Vectorlinux 5.8 standard gold. In Kubuntu, I had this problem with the graphics. So, a guy told me to boot in recovery mode and type
Code:

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
and it worked. So I installed Vector and The screen is all messed up. so I go into tui mode and typed
Code:

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
and It didn't work!!! what should I do to reconfigure the graphics? PLEASE HELP ME! i AM IN TROUBLE. THERE ARE THINGS I NEED TO DO ON THAT COMPUTER!!!!

Vector is Slackware based and you will have to run xorgconfig in a CLI root shell...

Kubuntu is Debian based and dpkg-reconfigure is a debian related command...

or, try
Code:

xorgcfg -textmode
