Display issues

I am trying to run VL on an old P2 IBM Thinkpad 770Z laptop.

Everything that i have tried still I can't seem to get the screen full-size. It is stuck in the very center of the screen at about 1/8 the full screen size.

I have tried many ideas but none have worked so far. And I cant' do xf86config to reconfigure my monitor because i can't seem to find the horizontal and vertical sync rangers ANYWHERE. All help is appreciated!

try running "xvidtune" application in X, then check auto, modify your screen until you like the result, then click on show, there will be something similar to this on the output
"1024x768" 94.50 1024 1072 1168 1376 768 785 788 808 +hsync +vsync
and after that add this line to your monitor section in XF86config
Modeline "1024x768" 94.50 1024 1072 1168 1376 768 785 788 808 +hsync +vsync
(substitute everything after ModeLine with the your xvidtune output)
