Rep:
auto login on VL4.3
Last month I was given an old HP desktop pc that I put Vector Linux 4.3 on. It's not on the net and I use the large harddrive as a jukebox for my mp3s. I used vasm to configure it to boot into a window session and made fluxbox my default. How do I auto login? I googled around and found that there is currently an rc.autologin file now which I don't have. I tried creating this file and made it executable with chmod +x containing this:
login -f linuxhippy
I placed it in /etc/rc.d but that didn't work on reboot (no errors). /etc/inittab is setup for runlevel 5...I don't think I can go higher.
