yaboot second stage bootloader fails on PowerMac G4

I hope I'm not posting too much here. I've read a lot of solutions to similar problems but I can't seem to work those solutions into my own problem. Here's the details:

I have a PowerMac G4. It has a 30GB drive partioned like this: hda2 as the boot partition, hda3 as the root and hda4 as the swap. hda2 is NewWorld hfs, hda3 is ext3 with Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, hda4 is swap.

It gets as far as starting to load the second stage bootloader and stops.

If it helps any I've posted both the yaboot.conf and ofboot.b contents on hda2 below. I appreciate any suggestions you might have for me.

Here's the contents of yaboot.conf:

boot=/dev/hda2
ofboot=/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/ata-4@1f000/disk@0:2:
partition=3
root=/dev/hda3
timeout=30
install=/usr/lib/yaboot/yaboot
magicboot=/usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot

image=/boot/vmlinux
label=Linux
read-only

And here are the contents of ofboot.b:
