Hi guys;i just installed Xubuntu 1310 in place of Ubuntu1310 Studio, ubuntu Studio was nice but there was a gazilian of software for sound and video that i would never use so i allways liked xubuntu xfce so i'm giving it a try,
i installed the fglrx ATI Drivers and i pulled up the addicional drivers box and it has the last box ticked, my question should i change it or this is ok? See screenshot thanks.
If you have problems with the version that is currently checked you can try the updated version, otherwise I would leave it alone.
Thanks TobiSGD;so far so good HD Video With HDMI is working great out of the box, much better then HDMI on Ubuntu Studio 1310 that i had to adjust in the catylic control but could never get it as good as in xubuntu 1310,

I think this is very strange. I actually have that card too and find the generic FOSS driver works better.
The fglrx-driver (package name in Debian repos for the same thing) "stretches" my screen horizontally giving rectangles instead of squares and ovals instead of circles. FOSS driver works great and all compositing works fine.
All that goes for all versions installed, Wheezy, Jessie and Sid but the fglrx works better in Squeeze. Squeeze is what 10.04 was based on, 12.04 was based on Wheezy. 12.10, 13.04 and 13.10 are based on Sid. 14.04 will be based on Jessie (Debian testing).
I am running Xfce 4.8 on Wheezy and 4.10 on Jessie and Sid.
Xubuntu is a pretty nice DE OS. Last looked at in in 12.04-testing. Like Xfce under Debian better because the settings manager works better. You have nautilus installed and use it to control the desktop and this interfers with a lot of Xfce native configuration.
Don't know what it looks like now but 12.04, I think was the second best thing Canonical had going for it. Lubuntu is, or was, a real gem. The other DEs they offer are, in my opinion very poorly integrated.

So far fglrx-drivers are working great in My Xubuntu 1310.If one follows the command line instructions i gave, i don't think fglrx-drivers will work in the wheezy or squeezy 7
