Xubuntu 6.10 prerelease -> final

Hi,

I installed Xubuntu 6.10 pre-release a few weeks ago, now the final6.10 version came out. Normally an apt-get update & apt-get upgrade should be enough (according to the site) for a complete and final release but I'm a bit suspicious (little stuff that will break in the future, etc.)

Anyone with more info/expierence in this matter ?

thanks,
Dimi.

What you read is right. If you keep upgrading, you'll end up with the same packages as if you installed from the 6.10 cd.
It works because of the way Debian is built. Unlike Windows, "releases" are just freezes of a package tree in time (pretty much like BSD). So, as long as the Ubuntu people keep the tree sane enough and you don't fiddle with breaking external repositories, you should be able to keep upgrading.
If you're still suspicious, run lsb_release -a to see your current version.
