Excatly as the title says:

Windows XP Pro

>HTTP Fast
>FTP Past
>IM File sending fast

Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper

>HTTP Fast
>FTP Very slow (20kb/s if I'm lucky)
>IM file sending can be slow

Tried EXCATLY the same FTP on windows (235kb/s my max speed for my 2mb link), on Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper I get 20kb/s.

I have been researching this for about a week now and it is driving me crazy.

What I have done

>Disabled IPV6 (My system was fine for like 10 mins, then slowed down again)
>Disabled IPV6 firefox support

I seen alot of posts regarding this on forums it seems to be a right bug with Ubuntu, and I love this distro, but if it plays up I might have to install XP again

Please send us some FTP links that you have tried where the speeds differ greatly between the two OS's?

I don't think I have seen any difference between my Windows XP and Ubuntu 6.06 regarding FTP. But then again, I barely use FTP.

Just listening. - Is this on a double-boot system?
