Question xgl login problem

hello all, i am running 32-bit ubuntu 6.06 and wanted to install xgl/compiz. i started with this site:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CompositeManager/Xgl

i followed the directions to a t! but when i choose options -> session manager -> xgl from the login screen, and then attempt to log in, i get an error message saying that my gnome session lasted less than 10 seconds and there is an error... here is what the error dialog read:

/etc/gdm/PreSession/Default: Registering your session with wtmp and utmp

/etc/gdm/PreSession/Default: running:/isr/bin/sessreg -a -w /var/log/wtmp
-u /var/run/utmp -x "/var/lib/gdm/:0.Xservers" -h "" -l ":0" "ryan"

/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...

sleep: missing operand

Try 'sleep --help' for more information

/usr/bin/startxgl.sh: line 3: 2: command not found

im not sure how to fix this... any ideas??
thanks in advance!

apparantly you need to look in /usr/bin/startxgl.sh and see what line 3 says cause you'd don't have whatever that is installed or working.
