x86 binary file not work on x86_64

Hi,
I have a binary file which works fine on X86. But it doesn't work on X86_64. Any way to emulate that?

Yes, an x86 executable should work on an amd64 machine.

No, an x86 object won't link into an amd64 executable - the ELF object file is different. All source object files must be compiled the same way.

Soooooooo ....

Can you be a bit more explicit about what you're trying to do, and what problems you're running into.

Cutting/pasting specific commands and complete error messages would be helpful, too.

On x86, I have:
Code:
mahmood@localhost:~$ md5sum tdec-linux
9d99c9e8561bf1c88652e569a20e57e6 tdec-linux
mahmood@localhost:~$ ls -l tdec-linux
-rwxrwxrwx 1 mahmood mahmood 49827 2007-06-28 20:35 tdec-linux
mahmood@localhost:~$ ./tdec-linux
Usage: tdec input
   or: tdec k1 k2 k3 k4
       .....
However on x86_64, I get:
Code:
mahmood@localhost:~$ md5sum tdec-linux
9d99c9e8561bf1c88652e569a20e57e6 tdec-linux
mahmood@localhost:~$ ls -l tdec-linux
-rwxrwxrwx 1 mahmood root 49827 2010-10-25 08:56 tdec-linux
mahmood@localhost:~$ ./tdec-linux
-bash: ./tdec-linux: No such file or directory

found the solution here http://maketecheasier.com/run-32-bit...nux/2009/08/10. ia32-libs will do the job.
