X wont start after installing ATi proprietary drivers

Last week I created a partition to install Ubuntu 12.10 on my Dell Inspiron 15R that has a hybrid ATi Radeon 7730M. Installation was a piece of cake and, by the way, very fast!
But, after I installed ATi's driver I ran the command:
Code:

$ sudo aticonfig --initial
Rebooted the computer and Ubuntu blacks out when starting X. I can go to a terminal (i.e. Alt+F1), but can't run X...
How to solve this?
Thanks in advance,

Got it working again!
All I did was restore the original xorg.conf file - which "sudo aticonfig --initial" created in the first place with one single commented out line.
Still I don't have 3D acceleration on X, mostly because the video card driver has not bee loaded.
