X stopped working ...

X stopped working, now i can't get into the GUI. I was wondering if someone here may be able to help.

Here is the post at Ubuntuforums

http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=102138

Basically here is whats happening.

I installed a theme from kde-look.org it was for KDE 3.2 or 3.3 and i have 3.5 final so maybe that has something to do with it. I rebooted and now im just presented with the console

ubuntu login: darren
password:

darren:$

That's basically what i get too. No gui login it's as if it has disappeared!

I try typing 'startx' and i get these errors:

As the replies to your thread on ubuntuforums suggest,
it would appear that the theme you've installed would
have very little to do with the Xserver starting.

Doesn't this look like the problem?

Parse error on line 21 of section Files in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf
":unscaled" is not a valid keyword in this section.
(EE) Problem parsing the config file
(EE) Error parsing the config file

How about you edit that file, and just comment ('#') that line
and see what happens.

You might also like to post that section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf
(not the whole thing).
