Wubi

I'm running Mint using mint4windows to allow dual booting with Vista. If I now run wubi and install Ubuntu 8.10 what will happen to the boot program (grub?). Will it add Ubuntu to the existing Vista and Mint options? Or can I use wubi and then manually edit the boot file. Or shouldn't I try?

Mint runs very well (I carefully defragged my HDD before installation) and I'd like to try Ubuntu but don't want to loose all my Mint settings by uninstalling.

wubi won't affect grub, it's only the windows loader that is modified, so you'd just choose to boot windows and then ubuntu in the windows boot menu.

Many thanks for the reply. Logically that's what I expected but it's comforting to know that it works that way. I'll give it a go.
