Wireless Not Working When Booting Live CD

Just finished downloading and creating a live cd for Ubuntu 6.10. It instals fine up until I get to the desktop, at that point both my mouse and keyboard stop working. My mouse and keyboard are both wireless with bluetooth capabilities. Is there any way of resolving this issue?

The Cleaner.

Open a terminal and try: lspci
(presumably with a wired keyboard and mouse)

If you boot with the bluetooth HIDs active - swap to wired HIDs, then look at dmesg for references to the wireless ones.

Wireless HIDs are not normally a problem, since they look just like the normal version as far as the OS is concerned. However, these are bluetooth devices. I don't think bluetooth support is included with the live CD right now (someone correct me) - though you will definitely get it in the HD install.

Here's some wireless in ubuntu guides:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...20&mode=linear

While I see a lot of references to wireless/bluetooth working out of the box with edgy, it is never clear that this is the HD install or the desktop running live.

Well, I instead tried to instal it using a wired keyboard and mouse, however I again had some other difficulties. Oh and sorry I forgot to mention but I was running the LIVE CD at the time.

Aside from not being able to get the bluetooth mouse and keyboard and mouse to work, when I did enterr the instalation screen it asked me to instal on either 1 of my 2 hard drives. Now, the problem with that is that I am currently running on raid 0 with two 320gig HDs. I partioned about 100gigs using the linux ext3 file system before trying the instalation but it didnt seem to detect that. I was wondering if there was a way around this because it detected my two hard drives as seperate.

As for the wireless, I guess I can take car of that when I actually have the system installed, so I didnt really try to fix it right away.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'd like to start using linux as soon as possible.

Thanks,
The Cleaner

... for installing Ubuntu to an existing RAID. (Look at post #5 - post #7 has the basic fix for this.)

The howto is at:

... this looks exactly like your setup.
