Wireless card Edimax EW-7711UMn not working
 

Hello,

I am relatively new to Ubuntu and I bought a wireless card as stated because it said Linux compatible on it.

I found out on another blog that I needed to blacklist the following:

blacklist rt2x00usb
blacklist rt2x00lib
blacklist rt2800usb

Since then the wireless on my Ubuntu finds a couple of networks, amongst them my wireless network that I am trying to connect. When I enter the Password (which I enter correctly btw) then it tries to connect, but then stops after about 30 seconds.

Does anybody have any clues how this might work?

seems like encripting is making troubles, try disabling encription or install wpa

thanks for that. Would I need to switch off the encryption at the router or just the PC? The reason I am asking is because I live in a populated area and don't want to expose myself to "freeriders".
