Window Preferences Hiccup
I was just look for a way to change the look of my terminal... I got bored...
And I'm running Beryl SVN and Gnome-Dock.
So I went to Preferences > Windows (though I'm 95% sure the option wasn't there)
And it gave me a message saying "Cannot start application 'Window Preferences' Window Manager 'compiz' has not registered a configuration tool"
I'm running beryl... Maybe the message came up because Beryl is a fork off of compiz's code?
I dunno. Seemed wierd. I believe I've entered Window preferences while running Beryl before...
Maybe I'm just going crazy.
Off topic, but, I have a 200 mb Fat32 partition that comes before Windows in my drive. I first saw it a few months ago after installing linux. It has 7 mb used. What is it??
Thanks.
EDIT: Yeah I found out how to customize it. In "Profiles" under "Edit" in the terminal. Go me.

Q1: Is this solved? -- It looks like your edit contains your answer. If so, thanks for helping others w/ the same problem.
Q2: What make of computer is it? I'd bet it's an OEM "Tools" or "Restore" or some such. Is/was there a larger 1 @ the very end?

It's somewhat solved. But I don't think it's any actual problem. I'll settle with the argument that Beryl forked off of compiz's code and that's why "Window Preferences" wasn't starting.
And, it's a compact dell, one of the small models. We bought it 4 and a half years ago. It has a 37 gig drive, and when I was partitioning, I couldn't help but notice the 200mb fat32 partition and an "unknown" partition about 8mb in size at the very end.

I forget Dell's name for them, but I have seen more than 1 box partitioned like this. The larger part. @ the end of the disk is some kind of restore image. The smaller 1 @ the beginning, is a set of tools or utilities to access the other & do a restore, among other things.
Whenever I see things like this setting up dual boot systems for people, I never touch these OEM partitions. I resize only the main "C: drive" partition & create an extended partition in the reclaimed space. While this pattern is unusual, it works -- there is no rule that the extended partition has to be the last one.
