Why Does System Keep Reverting to Mandriva After Installing Ubuntu

I have a 13gb Seagate which had Mandriva LE 2005 on it. I downloaded and install Ubuntu but when I have repartitioned drive and asked to reboot the system tries to load Mandriva.

Even after trying the guided partitioning and manually (re: Linux Newbie Guide) and still same problem.

HELP!!!!

Bob

Yeah, I unplugged a second hd slave on ide1 and rebooted and it works. I will takes this runtime to learn a bit more about what I'm doing and look to replug it in after that. I am now up and working on an old Athlon PC I had lying around.

Thank for responding, I will repost when I reconnect the hd as to whether I cocked up or incompatibility issue? To date, everything has been a breeze. Very much a good GUI distro for Windows users converting to Linux. Quite enjoying it so far, but I could get in strife soon for spending too much time on the thing.

Is it appropriate for me to raise a new question on this thread or should I start a new one as when I attempt to install some extensions for Firefox I get an error message "Firefox could not download the file at https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/undefined because: Not a valid install package". So far, all I've been able to get is Fasterfox.

Any suggestions :-)

Yeah, I don't know. Don't really use firefox. You may want to start a new thread to get the attention of the firefox junkies out there
