Thumbs down Where's the expert install?

I already have 2 harddrives with 5 partitions with WinME and Slackware on them and one partition left over.

I was going to put Ubuntu on there, however the install program is abysmal! It insisted on a selection that would blow away my LILO and install Grub (with who knows what results). Since it didn't allow me to make an intelligent select I put garbage in there hoping that I could get more options later.

No such case it just crashed and luckily for me, didn't destroy anything.

Is there an expert install somewhere on the 6.10 live desktop disk or is only a appliance creator.

The last time I looked at Ubuntu it had a "Server Install" option, which was basically just the standard Debian installer. I don't know if that is still present in the live CD version of the installer though.

I think "expert" options are only there for people experienced enough with Linux to be able to find them ...
How are you planning to boot the Ubuntu ???. If chainloading, you'll need to install grub to the (partition) boot sector, if you plan on using lilo directly, you'll still need to know the image and initrd name.
Either way you should install grub to the partition to get what you need. If you don't get that option either, try the "alternate" CD.

Yeah, you are probably right about that.

I was going to just do the install, skip the grub, then boot my slackware and go and fix up lilo by hand. I'll look into their other iso's. Thanks.
