Angry When I minimize the window the program disapears??

I had been using SUSE and just switched to Ubuntu. I am sure this is a stupid question but everytime I minimize a window that is open it just disapears it doesnt show up in my panel or anything It looks like it goes and floats down in the corner but I cant find it... I check to see what the processes that are running are and I can see the programs I minimized but I cant find them to reopen them... Any suggestions?? I am using Ubuntu Edgy Eft.

Can you take a screenshot so we know what you're talking about? Your description is lacking colorful pixels. ;-)

Re: Can you take a screen shot

Well Im at work right now so I can't really do that. And ontop of that a screen shot wouuld just be a shot of my blank desktop. I literally have the window open and then I hit the minimize button and the window just disapears all together nowhere to be seen. In SUSE when I would minimize there would be a tab down on the panel so I could reopen... Not the case here.

If you click on the taskbar and select "Add to panel", you can select a little app that allows minimizing to the taskbar.

If i remember correctly, it's called Window Selector. It will produce a small button on your taskbar; by clicking on it, you'll get a list of windows to choose from.

That should have been there by default. Any idea why it wasn't?
