what is auckland.ubuntu.com.www????
Hi Guys
something strange has started to happen to my system recently just after boot up. it's connecting to auckland.ubuntu.com.www on it's own and downloading stuff to my computer at a phenomenal rate. i've done an update, so it can't be that. it's happened twice now and is doing it as i write this. can anyone tell me what it's doing and why and how can i stop it as it's clogging the network up. the process went on for over an hour last time, until i shut the system down. not sure how long it will take this time as already stated, it's still downlioading. kind regards comatozed |
May be you have the daily updates option turned on in your updates manager?

Are you sure you gave us the full URL?
When I paste auckland.ubuntu.com.www into Konqueror, I get the error "The web site address you entered could not be found". This is logical since ".www" is not a top level domain -- i.e. you've given us an impossible address. I knew that by looking at it, but I did actually put it into a browser to be sure. I hope you haven't been cracked. |
