Let's keep it respectful here. Unity won't be for everyone (I don't like it, but I'll admit to not giving it much of a chance yet). Other 11.04 features will need to be improved based on user comments, just like anything new. For example, I *hate* the overlay scrollbars, and a lot of people have been pointing out various good reasons why they aren't ergonomic. But this is linux after all. So if you don't like them you can remove them. And the developers will likely improve them based on the comments.
So, let's not get our nickers in a twist over this. And when someone does get their nickers in a twist let's try not to attack their intelligence or sanity.

Have you seen Shuttleworths comments about 'design goals'?-

Bug Description
Please consider this a possible feature request or wishlist.
Now when Unity will be default desktop for 11.04 could you please consider to add option to configure Unity launcher placement. Add simple option to lock/unlock through right-click menu and drag launcher to desired location like left/right and bottom.
I think the report actually meant that the launcher should be movable to
other edges of the screen. I'm afraid that won't work with our broader
design goals, so we won't implement that. We want the launcher always
close to the Ubuntu button.
6, count them, 6 ! marks. Usually more than 3 is an indication of a demented mind. It may be too late for professional help for this one.
Other than that I have no idea why anyone would upgrade or other wise install Ubuntu 11.04. But, this is Linux, it is their choice.
The title of this thread is open to other criticisms than the ! count. It really isn't as informative as it might be. Something like:
Warning! personal bad experience with Ubuntu 11.04
or Warning! Why you shouldn't upgrade to Ubuntu 11.04!
or even Warning! You shouldn't 'upgrade' to Ubuntu 11.04!
would help people to see what the thread was about, while still conveying the general idea that it was going to be a general '11.04 hasn't worked for me' theme (and, if it was me, I'd still like the word Ubuntu in the title line, because people who get this via, eg, an RSS feed won't know which sub-forum this is in, so the Ubuntu bit does add to the information for them).
You could argue for adding IMHO to the more outspoken titles, but, in my view, that would be understood by most people.
Remember, while your initial motivation might be to vent (...I did't notice a 'and how would I cure that' theme, so I'm guessing that you aren't pursuing the 'give me a helpful suggestion' aspect...), it is only really helpful to the community if it manages to put other users off from making a mistake, and to do that it has to attract the attention of people who are thinking of doing the same thing that you did. A good and descriptive title helps in that cause.
